Main Exam

Process of Uttarakhand PCS:-

Uttarakhand PCS Exam is conducted by Uttarakhand Public Service Commission, Haridwar. This exam is conducted for recruitment to State Civil Services of Uttarakhand for the posts of SDM, DSP, ACCT, BDO etc. It consists of three stages, which are Preliminary, Main Exam and Interview. 

Preliminary:-

The preliminary exam consists of two papers each of 150 marks to be attempted in 2 hours. First paper consists of GS and has 150 questions. Second paper is of Aptitude and has 100 questions. All questions are objective MCQ type.  The total of both papers is used to determine merit according to reservation category and post category. This is only an exam for qualification i.e. marks are not added for final result. The syllabus is as given above.

Main Exam:-

The Main Exam consists of seven papers. Six papers are of 200 marks each and one paper of 300 marks i.e. total of 1500 marks. Each paper is of 3 hours and descriptive type. Every day 2 papers are taken. The marks of this exam are added in the final result and determine merit. There is also provision of qualifying marks in all papers with 35% for Hindi and 30% for other papers. Total syllabus is as given above. 

Interview:- 

This is the last step in the process. After declaration of Main results, dates for interview are declared. Interview is taken by board composed of Members of Commission and external experts. After the interview, marks are added to Mains marks and result declared as per category and posts.
